As usual, the Scientific Programme will start on Thursday, October 9th in the morning and ends on Saturday, October 11th noon. On Wednesday, October 8th the YSF of our Society will organise a special event for young researchers in the afternoon. The oral presentations will be organised in two parallel sessions and the poster presentations will be held on Thursday and Friday. 

The general assembly of the German Society for Biomaterials (DGBM) with election of the whole board will take place on Friday afternoon, followed by the conference dinner in the event location Felix in the historic city centre (see section Venues below).

Topics of the Conference

The conference covers all topics related to biomaterials research and applications, including synthesis and characterisation of biomaterials and implants (metals, ceramics, polymers, hydrogels and composites etc.), functionalisation of biomaterials, release of bioactive ions, drugs and growth factors, scaffolds for tissue engineering applications, biofabrication and bioprinting, tissue and organ models including organ-on-a-chip systems (e.g. for drug testing), in vitro and in vivo models for evaluation of biomaterials and tissue engineering constructs, clinical applications of biomaterials and implants, strategies for preventing/curing infections, immunological aspects of biomaterials, as well as ML- and AI-based systems in biomaterials research.
